It's been a long million years.
Maybe 1 trillion years in the future, someone with time travel will methodically contact everyone who ever lived the nanosecond before their death and ask them how they felt about their life. And then, if they say it wasn't worth it, go back and erase them from existence. That way, everyone DID consent to being alive.
